Duncan Milne

Duncan Milne is an up and coming Ironman athlete, from the home of Ironman New Zealand, on the shores of Lake Taupo.

In 2002 he watched a friend compete in the NZIM and was infected with the IM bug.  He bought a bike, taught himself how to swim and the following March completed his 1st Ironman. He has'nt looked back and has steadily improved as each race goes by.  He has had 3 top 10 IMNZs, the best placing being in 2007 with 7th overall.

After steadily rising up through the field each year in Taupo, Duncan managed 8hrs 56 mins for 8th place in 2008, but what many people didn't realise was that Duncan was still holding down a full time job!

Deciding to give the sport a real crack, Duncan cut his work hours and was rewarded with wins at both the Leppin Sport Auckland Half Ironman and the prestigious Port of Tauranga Half Ironman.  He is now looking forward to the 2010 race where he will wear #1 and relishes the chance of being a repeat winner.

Duncan finds racing the best athletes in NZ and the World a fantastic experience.  He believes he has only scratched the surface of his potential and is dedicated to becoming an IM champion.

As all round good guy, Duncan is currently training with Cameron Brown and we wish him all the best at Ironman NZ in 2010!!
